We, Ichi inc. tries to introduce many people to the wonderful work and world of Japanese true artisans, such as Ms. Tanaka and Kobaien etc
We believe that a product made by genuine artisans have a soul. We believe that the deeper the understanding and mutual respect between users and artisans, the better the results will be for both sides.
Unfortunately, there are some people who don’t understand it, even people who call themselves artists. Some people visit them just like visiting amusement spots for tourists. like museums, souvenior shops, etc.
Due to cultural differences, we understand it is very difficult to explain these things for people from different backgrounds and cultures. But if people really wish to visit Ms.Tanaka’s studio, we hope they do so with courtesy and respect.
If you have made an appointment to visit her studio but are unable to make it, please be sure to contact us.
Chiyomi Tanaka’s studio is usually open from 11:00am to 16:00pm on weekdays. You can buy his brushes there in person. Payment is by cash only.
Tanaka does not speak English. Also, she is often absent due to events and brush-making classes, so if you would like to visit, please contact us in advance using the web form below.
